Please.
I don't know what I did, but Saturday morning my back went out. Or a nerve was pinched. Or something. But I'm in terrible pain.
I thought it would be better by now, but it's not much.
It is better in that I can walk (mostly) upright, rather than crawl everywhere like I had to do Saturday/Sunday morning. But it hurts!
I'm tired of not being able to do hardly anything. Hurts to sit. Hurts to lay. Hurts to walk. You get the picture.
Ro had to take the day off yesterday to babysit me. Today I'm on my own. Jess is helping me get the kids to/from school, though.
I had to cancel one unspecified business endeavor event and I have another one this weekend if it doesn't get better. I can't stand or lift, so I can't see how that will work out.
Yes, I've been in contact with the doc - she says to continue what I'm doing - hot/cold...
So that's my self-pitying, whining post. This has gotten old. Will you please pray for me? Thanks.
xoxo
PS - Stellan still needs a lot of prayer, too.

It's a Bright, Sunny Day-ay-ay
My kids will get on a kick and sing that line over and over and over sometimes. I hate it; it drives me up the wall, but it is in my head today, because it is. A bright, sunny day-ay-ay, that is.
Notice I didn't say warm. That's because it's only about 12 degrees. But it's warm inside, where I sit, looking out the window at the bright, sunny day-ay-ay, eating last night's stroganoff for breakfast. I'm watching one neighbor shovel his driveway. The man next door to him has not come out to shovel his grass yet. Yes, that's right; he shovels the snow off his grass. I haven't quite figured that one out yet.
My kids are enjoying their first full snow day from school in front of the TV. I don't mind so much because it's given me a reprieve from Grace's clinginess lately. Since they came home early yesterday my plans for a movie and scrapping were interrupted, with all the excitement and anxiousness of the storm. Today, though, things have calmed down... so we'll see.
Ro left work yesterday at 11:40. It is normally just over an hour drive. He got home at 2:45. He said it was really hairy... inching along in white-out conditions for much of the drive. There were a number of accidents all over the place. He really shouldn't have driven in those conditions but I'm glad he made it home.
Unfortunately, today being a bright, sunny day-ay-ay and all, he had to go to work this morning. :( The roads are still slick and icy though and it took him an hour longer to get there. Hopefully by the time he leaves this afternoon it'll be improved some.
May your day-ay-ay be bright and sunny as well.

PS: And please pray for Stellan. :)

Current Conditions: Near White-Out
Snow Day
... for me, at least. One thing about Colorado - it takes a lot of snow to close schools around here.
So I procrastinated. I've had all week to get groceries, and I kept putting it off. I was either too tired or too lazy or not feeling up to dealing with it. When Robert got home last night I was still trying to kick a killer Wednesday headache, when he told me we should expect at least a foot of snow today.
Huh? I'd pretty much given up on it. This year, to date, the Antelope Valley desert has seen a lot more snow than we have at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Maybe Mother Nature got tired of hearing that smart-aleck comment from me, because apparently she's ticked.
Ro woke me up at 6 so I could beat the storm and get some groceries. It had already been snowing steadily for about an hour. Finished my list, did my shopping, got gas (below empty; I told you I procrastinate!), took the kids to school. Here's what it's looking like after about 3 to 4 hours of snow:

And the "heavy snowfall" is to begin in the late morning and afternoon... another 4 hours from now.
Storm warnings are in effect. Our area is expecting 16 to 24 inches of snow, depending on which forecaster you listen to.
Blizzard conditions have been forecasted for the Denver area.
You know, where Robert is at work.
True, he got there safely... but I'm not too excited about his trip home.
But today should be a good day for me to get some scrapbooking done (I'm soooo behind, as you can see in my sidebar). Or maybe watch one of the 15 movies I recorded from the free Starz weekend on DirecTV. Or dive into another really good book.
And maybe spend some time with God.
I love these kinds of days. Just wish that the kids and Ro were home to hang out and snuggle with.
But at least the fridge is stocked, and I have chocolate.

You may have noticed, if you read my blog online, that there is a Praying for Stellan button to the right. If you click it you can visit the blog there. Every once in awhile I surf other blogs and find some occasionally that just resonate with me. Such is the blog of Stellan's mom. Well, Stellan is a 4 month old little guy whose heart is going nuts on him. He is fighting so hard... the blog is a testimony of his family's faith and trust in a sovereign God even when (especially when?) we don't understand any of the whys that surround the situation. I read it and I cry... partially because my heart is breaking for this family and partially because I wonder if my own faith could hold up to something like this. ANYWAY... when you see a little one today, or when God brings him to mind, would you please lift Stellan up in your prayers?

And I'll leave you with a couple of Wigglet-isms from the past week.

From Grace:
- "Mama? Where's my backpack? 'Cause I'm running away."
- "Beth? Beth? Beth? Daddy calls you Beth. Beth? Beth? Beth?"
And from Josh:
- "Feelings are for girls!"
- After I asked him how his friend liked his new school, he said he didn't know. "I don't ask him about his personal business, Mom! If he wants to talk about it, he'll tell me."
