I think I know what I'm spending my Christmas money on.  Can't you just see it?  I could load it and keep it in my car while I drive my kids to school and back.

Then again, we don't have any snow.

Yesterday when I was blogging and watching the YouTube videos I posted, I couldn't help but choke up some and I admit I needed to wipe a tear or two from my eyes.  Couldn't quite figure out why.  Today I took the time to look at the lyrics that have always been tough for me to decipher (except for the hallelujah part!).  What a beautiful, God-glorifying piece of music.  I hope you'll take a few to contemplate the words.

By the way, hallelujah means "an exclamation of praise to God."

It's now upon us...

... the Christmas season.  I completely missed the Thanksgiving season, at least on the blog.  I am often reminded, though, of the importance of remembering what God's done in my life, not just on the last Thursday of November, but each day of the year.  I'm challenged to be thankful in all circumstances, not just the easy, fun ones.  I'm challenged to find reasons to be thankful for things most of us do not want. 

Yeah, yeah, Thanksgiving's over now, I know.  Sorry about that.  I just felt like I missed something by not mentioning it.

Now on to topics of Christmas.

First, this blog has a brief but thought-provoking article regarding the book Advent Conspiracy.  Whether or not you read the blog article or the book, these four pieces of advice for the Christmas season are noteworthy:

Well the scale moved again, and in the right direction this time.  Not sure how that happened.  Cold weather and mom together make me want to eat, eat, eat everything in sight.  The scale today was encouraging, though, and hopefully will give me the incentive to get back on the stick.  Need to return to my eating plan and regular exercise.  Too much going on, but I need to make this a bigger priority I think.
