Happy New Year

I forgot to mention a couple things about reading the newspaper on Christmas morning. First, above the paper's title banner, it said Merry Christmas. No worries about PCness there. Next, the day's editorial was the story of Jesus' birth directly from the gospel of Luke. No commentary, just the story, straight from God's Word. And finally, a full page ad depicting a manger with a shadow of a cross over it ~ in large, beautiful letters it read The WAY in the Manger. Beneath that a Scripture verse was included, and beneath that, information on who to call if you'd like to know Christ as your Savior or receive a Bible. Finally, in teeny tiny print at the bottom of the page, it said who paid for the ad: Hobby Lobby, a local Michael's-like craft store that I've noticed plays Christian music over the speakers. Cool, huh?

Hard to believe 2007 is over. What a life-changing year it has been. We've been stretched and blessed. I'm excited to start 2008. I'm excited to get out my new calendars and to revisit my list of goals ~ rejoicing in what's been accomplished and renewing a commitment to those things that didn't make the "done" column, as well as adding a few more goals for the year along the way. I have some ideas and things floating around in this head of mine. I'm excited. I need to get some new pens first, though. :)

We've had a few sickie days here lately. Chris got it first, up all night Friday night sick, and then Deb was sick all Saturday night and Sunday. Hopefully it'll stop there. I'm fighting yet another cold, but these guys have had some kind of stomach bug. Pop is doing well here. He isn't too thrilled with the cold but I think he's doing all right. After all, it's not cold in the house, and he's been wearing his new lined pants.

Grace is learning new tricks. She closes her eyes, waves her arms in front of her, and yells, "I'm blind! I'm blind!" And she has a zebra she rides, but riding it hasn't been enough for her. She stands on the saddle now, and stretches one leg out behind her while holding on to the handlebar... or, if in the mood, she'll stand up on the seat and try to let go with both hands. She's only fallen once, and after a kiss and a hug, she got right back on. :: sigh :: She wears me out. :)

Prayer Needs:
  • W's job situation
  • Safe travel - Mom, Deb, and Pop are planning to leave Wednesday
  • No one else to get sick

How funny... K got a horse for Christmas and she was balancing on it's back last night! She looked like one of those show rodeo people who stand on their horses! She scares me to death. I think at the moment she has about 3 scratches or bruises on her face.
