A-mazed

Today we headed out after a quick lunch at Waffle House to the Harvest Farm in Wellington, just a hair outside of Fort Collins. The farm is run by the Denver Rescue Mission and we were excited to not only spend some quality family time together there, but support a worthwhile charity in the process.

What a fun time we had! The weather was warm, although the wind sure picked up as we arrived. As we came in we sat in a long line of cars for more than 15 minutes. We figured that didn't look good! But once we got inside the crowds weren't bad at all.

We walked around for a little bit first, checking everything out. We found a mini corn maze and the elder Wiggy Ones took the Wee Wiggy One through that, and then the kids climbed on the huge bales of hay that made a hay maze, jumping into a pit of mattresses in one corner. We spent some time at a petting zoo (G enjoyed it as long as she was higher up than the animals!), bought kettle corn, rode a barrel train, and the hit the corn maze.

We've never done a corn maze before, and it was mostly a lot of fun. It took us just over half an hour to find our way out, and we had no method to our madness. The only bummer of the trip was the stroller... the path started out smooth and stroller-friendly, but soon turned bumpy and troublesome. Still, we made it through, and it was a lot of fun. I guess they do this at night, too ~ that would be fun, I think! Next time - in the dark, sans stroller.

The kids got to shoot off the Corn Cannons before we left for the day. That was fun, and boy, those things can fly. All in all, a great afternoon at Harvest Farm.
