We got the kids enrolled in their schools today. Both kids are so excited. That makes me so excited! J has been asking to be homeschooled for months, even up until this morning when we made it to his school to enroll. But once he got there, saw the school, met some of the friendly staff including the principal and guidance counselor, he's really begun to get excited about it. He is even looking forward to the ice cream social next week when he gets to meet his teacher and find his classroom.
I'm really excited for C as well... this school has so much to offer us, more than the schools did in our last district. She selected band as her first choice for an elective; she gets two and they don't think it'll be a problem for her to get in. That would be great because in her grade band is a beginner class. She gets a locker - two actually, one for her main studies and one in the PE room - and yes, she'll dress out for PE this year. They take PE for only one semester, and health the other. We met with her guidance counselor as well, and got to take a brief tour of the school from an 8th grader who also moved to the area in 6th grade from southern CA. I don't think C has stopped looking at her paperwork for more than a few minutes and J has just about got the lunch menu memorized! ;)
J was carrying G today and fell. He braced her fall mostly but she still hit her head. Ro went for immediately and I went to J. It just broke my heart because he was shaking uncontrollably. He was just about hysterical because he hurt his sister. He was so afraid she'd never forgive him again. :) But she's a trooper and bounced back fine. He is such an amazing brother to her.
Later she nipped her finger in a fan... just not her day I guess.
And I guess this tummy bug has hit Ro and me. We haven't thrown up like the kids but we're not feeling well. :(
We went by the loan place today. Things look good. The appraisal is scheduled for Thursday and they are optimistic about closing escrow by the 20th. :) We're getting very excited and are more than ready to leave the hotel life behind for a long, long time!
Tomorrow should be another busy day. We're off to Denver for business and pleasure. :)
