240 miles today
We got in late last night so we couldn't see much of Grand Junction. Woke up, though, and looked out the window to see beautiful greenery everywhere. OK granted we were next to a golf course, but still, it was pretty beautiful.
We had our free hot breakfast downstairs and headed out for Glenwood Springs. C actually brought this town to my attention because there was a mention of it in her American Girl magazine not too long ago. We had hoped to tour a cavern there as well as vist the hot spring pool but time just didn't permit it. We got a late start, although it was nice because G let us sleep a little later than usual. We got into Glenwood Springs and had lunch at Chili's, and then drove around awhile until we finally found the pool. Incidentally, Doc Holliday's grave is there, not to mention other vapor caves and a hanging lake. We definitely would like to visit this area again.
We did find time / make time to visit the pool, since that was the kids' first choice. I have to admit it was pretty impressive, but wow, was it expensive! I think we paid $57 for the five of us to go swim and we didn't stay there more than 90 minutes.After the pool, we headed to Lakewood which is a suburb of Denver. We checked into a Best Western and went to find food. We grabbed grub at Red Robin and headed back to the hotel for some much needed rest. Even though we didn't drive as much today, we still found ourselves pretty tuckered out.

In the News:
- I was very saddened to hear about the miners trapped in Utah. It reminded me of when Mom and I were in Hawaii on our cruise and those other miners were trapped, and eventually found dead, in West Virginia. Very, very sad.
